High schools in Toronto are experimenting with virtual reality technology to teach students about the origins of tattooing. Through VR headsets, students can “visit” ancient Polynesian islands, Japanese tattoo studios, and Native American ceremonies where body art played key cultural roles.
Teachers say the immersive approach makes history lessons more engaging while helping young people appreciate tattoos as a global tradition rooted in storytelling and identity.
