Researchers at Humboldt University have created tattoos with bioactive inks that release medication when the skin is injured. The tattoo glows red at the site of a wound and releases anti-inflammatory compounds.
Dr. Anika Schultz said: “It’s like carrying a personal medic inside your skin.”
