Denmark has elected its first openly tattooed mayor, Lars Haldorsen, whose full-sleeve Norse mythology tattoos became a political talking point. Critics argued tattoos were “unprofessional,” but supporters saw them as a symbol of authenticity.
Haldorsen said in his acceptance speech: “My tattoos tell my life’s story — and I will lead with honesty inked on my skin.”
