Scientists at MIT have unveiled tattoos that double as health monitors, changing color based on blood sugar, hydration, or oxygen levels.
Diabetics can now wear tattoos that shift shades to warn of low blood sugar, while athletes benefit from hydration-sensitive inks during training. “It’s art and health combined,” said Professor Daniel Hughes, who led the research.
FDA trials are underway, and experts predict the tattoos could become mainstream within three years.
