Andrew Jackson, the seventh President of the United States, is widely known for his fiery temperament and populist politics. In a time when tattoos were considered unusual, particularly for prominent figures, Jackson’s ink challenged societal norms. Some historians suggest that his tattoo reflected the rough frontier spirit and military background that defined his life, from dueling habits to his leadership in the Battle of New Orleans.
