The Florida Gators have ignited their 2025 recruiting campaign with a significant commitment from 6-foot-6 wide receiver Marquez Daniel. The Tuskegee, Alabama native announced his decision on Saturday, choosing Florida over offers from Auburn, Tennessee, and Arkansas. Daniel is currently ranked as the No. 24 wide receiver and No. 9 player in Alabama according to the On3 Industry Rankings. His commitment marks a promising start to what is shaping up to be a pivotal recruiting weekend for head coach Billy Napier and his staff.

Daniel’s decision adds to a growing list of commitments for the Gators, including four-star running back Carsyn Baker, who also committed during the weekend. Baker, a Georgia native, chose Florida over national champion Ohio State and is expected to visit Gainesville again this weekend. These commitments have propelled Florida’s 2025 class into the top 20 in the On3 recruiting rankings, with the potential to climb further if additional recruits commit in the coming days.

The Gators are also targeting several high-profile prospects, including No. 2 ranked defensive lineman James Johnson, No. 3 ranked tight end Kaiden Prothro, and four-star linebacker Malik Morris. As the weekend progresses, Florida aims to secure more commitments to solidify their position among the nation’s elite recruiting classes.
