Scientists in the Netherlands have developed plant-based biodegradable tattoo pigments designed to naturally break down over time without releasing harmful byproducts. Unlike conventional inks that may remain permanently in lymph nodes, these eco-friendly pigments degrade slowly, reducing toxic build-up. Artists say it could usher in a “green ink” movement, where tattoos fade gracefully while minimizing long-term medical concerns.
