NASA Tests Bioluminescent Tattoos for Deep-Space Missions

NASA scientists are experimenting with bioluminescent tattoos to serve as health monitors during long space missions. The tattoos glow in specific colors to indicate hydration levels, oxygen saturation, and stress levels.

If successful, astronauts on future Mars missions could rely on these tattoos as real-time diagnostic tools. NASA describes the project as “the intersection of biology, technology, and body art.”
