Albania Explores Illyrian Motifs in School Art Projects

In Tirana, art teachers have launched classroom projects where students study Illyrian archaeology and design tattoo concepts based on ancient spiral motifs and warrior emblems. Museums lend artifacts and provide context on pre-Roman Balkan cultures.
Teachers say the exercise fosters national awareness and creativity, allowing youth to reimagine old symbols responsibly. The result is a wave of tattoos that link modern identity to ancient regional roots.
