Germany Introduces Stricter Tattoo Ink Regulations

Starting next year, Germany will enforce new EU-wide rules banning over 4,000 chemicals in tattoo inks to ensure client safety. The legislation targets pigments linked to cancer risks and allergic reactions.

Tattoo artists across Berlin and Hamburg are adjusting to the changes, with many switching to certified organic inks. While some fear higher costs, health officials say the move is a major step toward safer body art practices in Europe.
