London Schools Introduce Tattoo History Lessons

Several secondary schools in London are now including the history of tattoos in their art and culture curriculum. Teachers say the lessons explore tattoo traditions from indigenous tribes, Japanese irezumi, and modern Western styles, helping students understand how body art reflects identity and history.

Education officials believe this approach will spark creativity and reduce stereotypes, showing students that tattoos are not just about fashion but also about heritage and storytelling.
