Military Uses Tattoos to Teach History and Discipline

In several countries, the military is using tattoos as part of cultural and educational programs. Soldiers learn about the history of tattoos in the armed forces — from naval anchors and regimental crests to symbols of courage carried by warriors for centuries.

At the same time, health officers conduct awareness sessions on safe tattooing practices, stressing the risks of unprofessional work and the importance of aftercare. Some units even hold exhibitions where veterans share the stories behind their ink.

Commanders say the initiative connects soldiers to a sense of tradition and discipline, while reinforcing the importance of health and professionalism in military culture.
