Indonesia Promotes Tattoo Awareness in Schools and Festivals

In Indonesia, schools and cultural festivals are introducing tattoo awareness programs that highlight both traditional tribal designs and modern tattoo culture. Students learn how indigenous communities, such as the Dayak people of Borneo, used tattoos to symbolize bravery, protection, and identity.

Alongside cultural education, health professionals lead workshops on the importance of sterilization, safe procedures, and aftercare to prevent infections. Temporary tattoos inspired by traditional motifs are used to make the lessons engaging.

Organizers say the initiative celebrates heritage while equipping young Indonesians with practical knowledge about tattoo safety.
