Vatican Opens Dialogue on Tattoos Among Young Catholics

For the first time in history, Vatican representatives held a public forum discussing tattoos in Catholic youth culture. While older clergy often viewed tattoos as rebellious, Pope Francis encouraged seeing them as “symbols of belonging and stories of faith.”

One attendee showed a rosary tattoo on her wrist, saying: “It helps me keep prayer close, even when I’m away from church.”
