UNESCO is debating granting intangible cultural heritage status to traditional Polynesian tattooing. The move would protect sacred symbols, rituals, and ancient techniques passed down for centuries.
Tahitian tattoo master Mana Teva stated: “For us, tattoos are not fashion — they are bloodlines and ancestors on skin.”
