The staggering $10 million contribution, one of the largest single donations ever received by the Arkansas football program from a former player or coach, will be strategically invested to bolster key areas of the program. Nutt’s connection to Arkansas runs deep. He was a highly recruited quarterback out of Little Rock Central High School before beginning his collegiate playing career at the University of Arkansas. He later transferred to Oklahoma State, where he finished his playing career. After a successful coaching career at Murray State and Boise State, Nutt returned to Fayetteville as the head coach of the Razorbacks in 1998.
During his decade-long tenure (1998-2007) as head coach, Nutt led Arkansas to a 75-48 record, including three SEC Western Division titles (1998, 2002, 2006) and eight bowl appearances. His teams were known for their exciting, often unpredictable, style of play and his passionate, enthusiastic leadership. He garnered multiple SEC Coach of the Year honors (2001, 2006) and was named National Coach of the Year in 1998.
