Boom!!!đŸ’„ 4-star quarterback Dereon Coleman has officially short down his recruitment and is locked in with Miami hurricanes…

Four-star quarterback Dereon Coleman has officially closed his recruitment and is firmly committed to the Miami Hurricanes. The Orlando Jones High School standout made his decision public on July 3, 2024, coinciding with his 17th birthday. He chose Miami over offers from Oklahoma, Ole Miss, and UCF, citing the Hurricanes’ consistent communication and the personal attention from head coach Mario Cristobal and offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson .

Coleman has been a standout performer both in high school and on the 7-on-7 circuit. In the 2024 season, he led Jones to a 14-1 record and a state championship appearance, throwing for 3,412 yards and 28 touchdowns while rushing for 455 yards and four scores . His impressive performance continued into the offseason, where he was named MVP of the 2025 Battle Miami 7v7 tournament, showcasing his elite arm talent and leadership .

Standing at 6 feet and 170 pounds, Coleman is known for his quick release and deep ball accuracy. While he may not possess prototypical size, his explosive lower body and playmaking ability make him a dynamic dual-threat quarterback . His commitment adds to Miami’s growing 2026 recruiting class, which includes four-star wide receiver Malachi Toney and linebacker Jordan Campbell .

Coleman’s unwavering commitment to Miami reflects his strong relationship with the coaching staff and his confidence in the program’s direction. As he prepares for his senior season, all eyes will be on the young quarterback as he aims to lead Jones to a state title and further solidify his status as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 class.
