The Florida Gators have bolstered their future offensive lineup with the commitment of 2025 four-star quarterback Austin Simmons from
Pahokee High School in Florida. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 195 pounds, Simmons is recognized for his strong left arm, impressive football IQ, and dual-sport prowess, as he also excels in baseball.
Simmons chose Florida over other programs like Miami, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss, drawn by the opportunity to play both football and baseball at a high level. He expressed confidence in the Gators’ coaching staff, particularly head coach Billy Napier and quarterbacks analyst Ryan O’Hara, noting their emphasis on quarterback development and their fast-paced, RPO-based offensive system
During his sophomore season, Simmons threw for 3,253 yards and 27 touchdowns with a 67% completion rate, showcasing his capability as a dual-threat quarterback. His commitment adds depth to Florida’s quarterback room, joining 2024 five-star recruit DJ Lagway. Both players are expected to contribute significantly to the Gators’ offensive future.
