Louisville, KY  In an electrifying announcement that has thrilled Cardinal fans across the nation, former Louisville Cardinals men’s basketball legend Darrell Griffith has returned to the program in a new leadership role. The Hall of Famer and 1980 NCAA Champion has officially joined the Cardinals’ coaching staff as a Senior Coaching Advisor bringing his legacy and wealth of experience back home.

 

Griffith, famously nicknamed “Dr. Dunkenstein” during his collegiate and NBA days, is revered as one of the most iconic figures in Louisville basketball history. His return to the KFC Yum! Center marks a monumental step for the program as it looks to rebuild and inspire a new generation of talent.
