Edwin Pata, the offensive line coach at Florida International University (FIU), is set to join the Miami Dolphins coaching staff for the summer through the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship. This prestigious program aims to provide minority coaches with NFL coaching experience, fostering diversity and inclusion in the league.
Pata’s coaching journey has been marked by a series of impactful roles. He began his collegiate coaching career at Florida A&M University, serving as the tight ends coach in 2007. Over the years, he progressed to coaching the offensive line and eventually became the interim head coach in 2017. In 2018, he took on the role of head football coach at Immaculata-La Salle High School. Pata returned to FIU as a graduate assistant from 2010 to 2013, before moving to the University of Miami. At Miami, he held various positions, including assistant director of recruiting, quality control analyst, and assistant offensive line coach .
In his current position at FIU, Pata is tasked with developing the offensive line, bringing his extensive experience and leadership to the Panthers. His appointment to the Dolphins coaching staff through the Bill Walsh Fellowship underscores his commitment to growth and excellence in coaching.
